How To Think About Time When You Have ADHD

Time.

Everyone seems to hate time.

But time is the great multiplier of success when you approach time correctly.

How To Think About Time When You Have ADHD

Father Time is incredibly rewarding to those who treat it with great respect.

Time can help you achieve unbelievable results in life.

For example, the longer you’re able to commit to your Attention & Energy Grid, the more your attention and energy will compound, and the better results you’ll experience overall.

You can investigate the compound effect for reference.

But overall, if you can manage to keep your attention and energy tightly focused in a single direction over a set period of time, time will become one of your greatest competitive advantages in life.

Plus, the vast majority of your competitors will fall off the grid due to Father Time alone.

I recommend committing to your Attention & Energy Grid for a set period of time, like 6 to 18 months at minimum.

This way, you are very likely to enter an upward spiral of success or a Winner Effect, as discussed in our article on surviving the desert of desertion.

Committing to your Attention & Energy Grid for a relatively long period of time will also help you defeat homeostasis and train your brain to associate your Attention & Energy Grid with lasting rewards.

For example, as you progress towards your life’s vision, you’ll start to feel like you’re living in alignment with your life’s vision, and you will achieve better and better results as time passes.

Now this is how you use time to your advantage when you have ADHD…

The simple act of knowing you’re living in alignment with your life’s vision is worth millions of dollars

They say graveyards are full of ideas, dreams and aspirations because everyone has ideas, dreams and aspirations.

But very few people actually pursue their ideas, dreams and aspirations regardless of the amount of time that is required.

You can be the exception here. As long as you’re willing to make your Attention & Energy Grid a long-term tool that you commit to over time.

Action steps

  • Start viewing time as a competitive advantage rather than an annoyance
  • Set a minimum time commitment for your Attention & Energy Grid (recommended: 6 to 18 months at minimum) and write this number on the physical copy of your Attention & Energy Grid
  • Understand that you can use time to your advantage because of your advanced knowledge of time being a great multiplier of success, rather than an annoyance

P.S. Check out this article about the importance of going fast (and essentially forgetting about time)

I recently read an article about the importance of going fast.

It’s one of the best articles I’ve read lately.

Learning how to go fast is an excellent way to forget about time, and accomplish great things in life.

The article is written by Patrick Collison. He’s the guy who made Stripe.

Enjoy!
