The “custom fit” process works by microwaving the guard in a bowl of water, cooling the guard, and then fitting it in your mouth with a disposable fitting tray. It’s pretty easy to do.
Comfort
The DenTek Professional Fit Dental Guard feels pretty comfortable after 1-2 weeks of regular use.
If you aren’t used to sleeping with a night guard in your mouth, yes, it will immediately feel sort of weird to you. Your brain will probably tell you to spit this thing out, and sleep without it.

Must be consistently repurchased (for hygienic reasons)
This dental guard needs to be repurchased at least twice a year. Some people might be able to push the limits of this, and purchase a new night guard every year or so.
However, if you have a really bad case of Bruxism, and you can grind through almost anything, then you might need to replace this night guard more often (maybe every 3 months or so).
Either way, this is one of those product’s that’s worth purchasing regularly, because it will eventually wear down one way or another.
May be too large for some people
While this product has worked great for me, some people claim that it’s too big to fit comfortably in their mouth. I have to assume that this is the reason why DenTek has also made their DenTek Comfort Fit Dental Guard (Amazon) available for purchase.
Some people might find more success with the Comfort Fit model, or other brands of over-the-counter dental guards.
Must be cleaned nightly
You have to clean this night guard each night. This isn’t really a negative, because cleaning your dental guard will help to keep it feeling nice and fresh in your mouth.
But, it does take a few seconds to clean every morning right after you wake up.
I recommend just lightly scrubbing it with toothpaste and cool water.
You can even use your toothbrush to clean it out.

Overall, I give this product 4 out of 5 stars. It should fit most people comfortably, and most importantly, stop you from waking up with terrible mouth pain.
