This article reveals 5 unusual yet effective ways to treat ADHD and anxiety naturally.

I practice these natural remedies as often as I possibly can, because they work extremely well…

Natural Remedy 1. Look up at the stars and put your problems in perspective

In Tim Ferriss’ book titled Tools of Titans (Amazon), he reveals a stargazing trick that he uses to reduce his anxiety.

Both Ferriss and memory grandmaster Ed Cooke share the following (paraphrased) perspective on using stargazing as therapy:

When you look up at the stars at night, try to imagine life on Earth from the perspective of the stars. Then, imagine zooming in on Earth, and seeing this small little character who’s worrying about problem X.

Once you start to think about how insignificant your ADHD and anxiety must appear in the grand scheme of the universe, you’ll immediately feel a sense of relief.

All those neurotic thoughts and feelings aren’t so important after all…

Look up at the stars, think about the big picture, and put your problems in perspective. You probably won’t feel as anxious afterwards.

Natural Remedy 2. Imagine yourself 15 years from now laughing about this moment in time

Regardless of your ADHD and anxiety, most things in life inevitably work out.

You might imagine that something catastrophic is going to take place in your life.

Whether your problems are related to your career, finances, relationships, health or whatever.

People with anxiety and ADHD can get really bold when it comes to exaggerating problems.

But, in 15 years’ time, you’ll most likely be hanging out somewhere and thinking back about this exact moment in time, wondering why you felt so stressed all the time.

Just take the time right now to imagine how silly you’re going to feel in 15 years – for spending so much of your life worrying about problems that can be solved 99% of the time.

Practicing this simple exercise today will help you remember that everything is going to be OK after all.

Natural Remedy 3. Go to a big city

When I venture out of the suburbs, and spend the day in a big city, I’m always reminded of the fact that the world is a massive place that doesn’t care about me.

And, realizing that the world doesn’t care about you is an extremely liberating feeling.

You can essentially do whatever you want in life, and no one will care. Once you know this, you can proceed to do what you want without worrying about any judgments, guilt or shame.

I don’t say this out of some nihilistic view of the world.

I’m much more interested in helping you get out of your own head. So visit your nearest city, spend the day walking around, and feel how small you are. This will help you free your mind from the burdens of ADHD and anxiety.

Natural Remedy 4. Watch comedy

There’s something about comedy that’s really attractive to me.

I admire how comedians have to kill their own ego in order to make fun of themselves and other people.

Plus, comedians are pretty messed up people in general, so it’s usually easy for people with ADHD and anxiety to relate with comics.

I’m a fan of extra-crazy comics like Bill Burr, Jim Norton, Joe Rogan, Ari Shaffir and many others.

But, everyone is different, and you might enjoy comics other than those (Kevin Hart is another popular one).

Either way, I urge anyone who suffers from ADHD or anxiety to watch more comedy. Studies have even shown that laughing and watching comedy can help with anxiety, depression and similar mental illnesses.

Natural Remedy 5. Write a book (even if you suck at writing)

A lot of people deal with heightened anxiety and ADHD problems because they feel like they haven’t accomplished much with their life.

And, writing a book is one of the greatest remedies for treating anxiety and ADHD, because it serves so many purposes.

When you write a book (which is unbelievably easy thanks to Amazon), you will produce your very own “product” that you own.

This is a magical feeling, because writing a book (creating your own product) can provide you with an immediate sense of purpose and meaning.

Plus, you will get to enjoy the psychological benefits of writing, share your own thoughts and viewpoints with the world, and potentially even generate a new stream of income.

Conclusion

There are many other ways to treat ADHD and anxiety naturally that I didn’t include in this article.

That’s because I’ve already written about the best natural ingredients, supplements, exercises and sleep tactics that everyone with ADHD and anxiety should be taking advantage of on a regular basis.

I wanted to make this article more about the uncommon yet effective methods that you can use to treat your anxiety and ADHD naturally.

But of course, keep in mind that combining these 5 methods with the foundations of living a healthy lifestyle (good food, sleep and exercise) will provide you with the best results of all.

Let me first say your site is awesome! I would love to write a book and plan to. The thing is I have great creative ideas and they flow once I start to free-write. My writing sucks really really bad. I am trying to find alternatives but the creativity does not flow like how writing does. Also, the communication when trying to tell the story. It is awesome in my head but when I try to speak it out or write it out, it gets messed up. Any suggestions?

Hi Joseph. Thank you very much for the kind words.

You should definitely write a book. Anyone can publish on the Kindle store 100% free of charge, so you already have all the tools available to you.

Your writing is perfectly good to me. You should write every day, read great books, and be a little bit vulnerable. James Altucher is the master of this. I suggest studying the way that James Altucher tells stories, and the emotions that he makes you feel.

At the end of the day, you have to find your own voice. This will take time. But there’s no rush. Just write every day, and you’ll eventually have your own audience.
